Looking for a quick, simple and inexpensive way of retrieving remote data from any project, big or small? Simple to set up with two years data included, Datacase is the logger your project needs. Datacase is designed to be powered by any source of DC electricity between 7 and 55 Volts – that could be directly from a solar panel, a battery, or some other source of DC power. Datacase is happy with either 24-7 operation, or battery-less intermittent operation (for example, just working whenever the solar panel finds sunlight).

Datacase – How it works

Datacase is designed to be powered by any source of DC electricity between 7 and 55 Volts. That could be directly from a solar panel, a battery, or some other source of DC power. Datacase is happy with either 24-7 operation, or battery-less intermittent operation (for example, just working whenever the solar panel finds sunlight).

Datacase will record the voltage (0-40V DC) and current (0-5A DC) of whatever you are measuring each minute. After 36 minutes, it will open a GPRS data connection to whichever mobile phone network is available and send 36 sets of records to the Datacase App. You can view this data in graphical form or download this raw data in simple CSV form for your analysis.

  • Supply voltage range: 7 – 55V DC
  • Three onboard measurement channels:
  • Voltage measurement range: 0 – 40V DC (50Hz samples for 60 secs then writes average)
  • Current measurement range: 0 – 5A DC
  • Pulses measurement range: 0 – 200 pulses per minute
  • Four additional digital/analogue channel ports, currently unutilised
  • i2C sensor bus support
  • ATMega 328 processor can sample at a maximum of 6,400/samples sec at 10bit resolution
  • 0-4.2V logging range
  • Data transfer: currently compressed onboard and sent by SMS. Future versions will also send via GPRS

Data sampling and transmission intervals can be easily configured, but are currently set to 1 set of records per minute, transmission every 36 minutes.

  • Micro-SIM socket (SIM card supplied)
  • Dimensions: 10 x 5cm
  • Protections: Reverse polarity
  • Power consumption 30 milliamps (higher during transmission)
  • 2 kb RAM; 1 kB EPROM; 32 Kb Program space
  • Clock speed 11.0592 MHz

Please note: £179 (incl. VAT) is an introductory price and subject to change
